Southern Tank Services visit Harlequin Plastics oil tank factory.
Southern Tank Services Ltd. two directors, Ross Cowan and Chris Ford, were invited to visit leading oil tank manufacturer, Clarehill Plastics Ltd. manufacturer of the Harlequin Oil Tank brand, at their factory and head office in Moira, Northern Ireland.
Since 1981, Clarehill has pioneered the development of rotationally moulded oil tanks and other environmental containers. Today, Clarehill is firmly established as the country's truly independent manufacturer of rotationally moulded fuel storage products, under the Harlequin brand.
Operating from purpose built production and distribution facilities in the heart of Northern Ireland, Clarehill services a diverse and demanding customer base throughout the United Kingdom and Europe. The Harlequin range consists of over 200 different models, including tanks for BioDiesel, Diesel, Heating Oil, Non Potable Water, Potable Water, Waste Oils and Lubricants and a range of bunker storage solutions for Coal, Grit and Road Salt.

"During the day long visit we were able to see every stage of the manufacturing process from the design office through to the polymer being ground and mixed, the moulds and the rotational moulding ovens and machines used to make the oil tanks to the finished tanks and the quality control systems used during the complete manufacturing process. This opportunity has given us an even better understanding of how an oil tank is made, seeing the fitting and outlet being moulded in the tank and the 'polishing' finish was very interesting."
