Pressure Washer Nozzle Guide and Size Chart

The pressure washer nozzle will have one of the biggest influences on the performance of your jet washing equipment. As high pressure water flows through the nozzle it slowly enlarges the nozzle hole and changes the size and spray pattern of the water. Because this happens slowly, over time, this can go unnoticed. Changing the pressure washer nozzle is a simple matter of unscrewing the old one and and screwing in a new nozzle of the correct size.

Nozzles are sized by two factors.
1 The Nozzle diameter, which gives the correct pressure and flow rate for the pressure washer pump.
2. The Nozzle angle. This sets the angle at which the water leaves the nozzle. Measured in degees, the lower the angle the more concentrated the power of the water jet is. Pressure washer nozzle jet angles available is different angles typically 0, 15, 25, 40 degrees.

Whatever angle of pressure washer nozzle you use, remember your pressure washer can give the same flow rate and pressure so changing the nozzle angle will effect how the water is used. As a general guide use the following:

The other big factor to cleaning power is how close you hold the nozzle to the surface, which is down to the operator and generally happens without having to think about it.

Use the pressure washer nozzle size chart below to select the correct nozzle for your pressure washer.
Example: If you have a pressure washer rated at 120Bar and 12 litre/min start at the 120bar column, slide down until you get to the number nearest 12, in this case 12.4, now look to the green column which is a 05 nozzle. Now decide which angle spray pattern best suits your needs.

Other nozzles are available including rotating head nozzles (Turbo Nozzles) which use a 0 degree angle with a rotating pattern for greater coverage and quick release nozzles which are the same as standard nozzles with a quick release coupling for fast swapping of the nozzle whilst working. Specialist equipment such as aqua broom or flat surface cleaner increase productivity by holding the nozzle close to the surface while moving fast to increase the rate at which you can clean.
