Tank Services are specialists to consult when installing underground fuel tank systems. We are often sub-contracted as part of bigger projects and have helped specifiers and architects with consulting requirements.
Storing fuel underground has major security and space-saving advantages compared to above-ground tanks. Underground oil tanks are out of sight with zero chance of a vehicle collision in a busy traffic environment. Therefore, they are less likely to cause a pollution incident or oil spill due to physical damage. The pipework will also be under negative pressure so less likelihood of a major loss of oil due to undetected leaks.
Our industry experience allows us to provide full project management and risk assessment ‘in-house’. From start to finish, we cover the ground conditions and preparation, civil excavation, tank, pipework, pumps and monitoring equipment. Some projects may be subject to planning permission, but we can help with drawing and specification for this as required. You will need to check with your local planning authority for more information.
Below ground tank installations suit a wide range of fuel storage and flammable liquid applications including:
Tank Services supply and install underground oil storage tanks (USTs) designed and manufactured to BS EN12285 Pt 1. Using steel with a highly corrosion-resistant Endoprene coating and an integrally bunded build, our tank manufacturer ensures the highest construction standards are maintained.
Our underground double skin tanks use a dry-air leak detection system. With low pressure compressed air monitoring between the tank skins for complete environmental protection against oil leaks. As part of the underground tank installation process, we can supply and install all the required infrastructure too:
Each client’s requirements are carefully considered to ensure every installation is fulfiled on time and to the highest standard. We are 100% compliant with oil storage regulations, environment agency protection levels, British Standards and building regulations. Working to industry best practice we use the APEA ‘Blue Book’ as our installation bible as well as our engineers being OFTEC registered technicians under the competent person scheme.
