The 3P Technik Garden Filter with Lid is a total retention rainwater filter designed for installation directly inside a rainwater storage tank, turret, or in-ground tank system. Unlike cascade-style filters that allow a proportion of incoming water to pass to waste, the Garden Filter retains all of the filtered water within the tank — making it particularly well-suited to smaller roof catchments and domestic installations where maximising collection volume is a priority. It is suitable for roof areas of up to 200m² and is a core component in the 3P Technik Rainwater Harvesting Kit A.

Filter Design and Maintenance

The Garden Filter contains an integrated dirt-collecting basket with a 1mm stainless steel mesh screen. Incoming rainwater passes through this mesh as it enters the tank, with captured particles settling in the removable basket below. The basket is fitted with a removal handle, allowing it to be lifted clear of the filter housing for inspection, emptying, and cleaning without the need to enter the tank or disconnect pipework. The matching lid seals the filter housing and provides access protection when the unit is installed at or near ground level. A 3P Technik Telescopic Extension Set is available separately for installations in deeper in-ground tanks where the filter needs to be raised to an accessible height.
