25% of generator engine breakdowns are caused by contaminated diesel fuel. Our fuel polishing service will prevent this.
Diesel fuel is a vital part of critical power infrastructure, including standby generators, emergency fuel pumps, boilers and other diesel engine powered hardware.
We’re proud to provide the most comprehensive diesel testing and fuel polishing service. We can deliver on this promise thanks to our diesel testing service and leading filter technology.
Information is key. Our first task is to analyse your diesel and test for water and particle contaminants. Using a portable laser particle counter with a moisture sensor, we test the diesel to ISO4406 and give the sample a cleanliness code. From this data, we provide a solution that will ensure the stored fuel supply is ready for your critical demand.
We check and double-check that your diesel is clean and free from any dissolved, emulsified and free water content. We carry out fuel tests until the diesel is fully cleaned with the fuel analyser. This ensures the diesel fuel is clean to ISO4406 code 18/16/13 and back to EN590 standards.
Capable of eliminating up to 98% of all bacteria, our custom fabricated fuel polishing equipment cleans oil down to a sub-microscopic 0.5 Microns. This eradicates Diesel Bug from your fuel, protecting your equipment and infrastructure and thereby eliminating microbial growth from your storage tank, both now and in the future.
Water is the most harmful fuel contaminant that could make its way into your tank. Read more about water in diesel here
With our fuel conditioning system and innovative filters, we can remove water from your tank. That means more reliable and efficient running, less downtime and reactive maintenance.
With clean fuel, your machinery will burn up to 5% less fuel. Better fuel economy equates to savings towards your bottom line. Diesel Fuel Polishing also helps out the environment. With fewer pollutants being generated by the burning of cleaner fuel, we will all benefit from higher air quality and fewer emissions.
Yes, but only when done correctly. We understand that diesel fuel is just going to be burnt anyway, so why bother cleaning it first? Well, the cleaner fuel is, the more efficient the engine that burns it can be.
Fuel polishing also removes contaminants that will prevent blocked filters and sludge build-up in pipework and the tank. These build-ups often lead to a decreased fuel flow rate, frustrating users of fuel dispensers!
Fuel cleaning also reduces harmful emissions helping keep the environment cleaner. Therefore, it’s safe to say it works and that it’s worth it. After all, it helps maintain healthy equipment too.
There are a few different methods to remove water from your tank, most of which we supply. A water removal sock is probably the most basic system. This is effectively a tube with a water-absorbent material whereby the water separates from the fuel and leaves the diesel behind.
These water removal kits can absorb up to 1590ml of water from the fuel depending on the model you get. If you have more significant contamination in your tank, however, you may need to invest in a robust filtration system. Adding a recirculation unit can be very costly especially if it’s just one-time contamination.
That’s why we provide a comprehensive Fuel Polishing service. That way you can remove and prevent bacterial contamination, protecting your equipment in the future as well as right now.
Water is without a doubt bad for generators. Any fuel-burning appliance will suffer if water ingresses into the fuel. When water passes through instead the tight tolerances of the equipment allows metal surfaces to touch each other without lubrication. This causes otherwise avoidable wear and tear to the pump, solenoid valves and fuel injection system. In a diesel generator, the fuel forms a part of the lubrication process, therefore keeping components like the injector pump healthy.
